And on a separate note, I made a Tumblr! I'm only going to post fanart there, but I figured since a lot of my stuff ends up there anyway I should just get one. In celebration, here's a drawing of Asami from Korra. DAMN HER AND HER MOPED.

Figures
I want to get better at drawing on the Cintiq. I've found that I get stuck drawing the same lines and get into bad habits, especially when drawing digitally. So, I decided to do some figure drawings! It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it, and they got progressively better as I went on, but this was a lot of fun and I want to keep doing it. I'd love to do some animals too.

Indy!
Indiana Jones was on TV, so I drew this.
ALSO, I can hear the people next door watching the second season of Avatar. I believe it's the episode "Bitter Work". (Yeah, that's how much of a fangirl I am). But it makes me happy! :)

Sherlock Holmes
So here's my "finished" Sherlock Holmes piece. I'm not happy with it (mostly because I really kind of didn't put any time into it because I have no time for schoolwork anymore! haha, good thing I'm graduating), and I wish I'd done something else because I've done too many night scenes. Oh well.

Also, here's a girl:

So yesterday I had the opportunity to show my portfolio to Jim Morris, the General Manager of Pixar.
It was kind of crazy. I didn't even know that I would be meeting him until the night before, and at the point I only knew that it would be 'some guy from Pixar'. In class about 2 hours before I found out who he was, and then I started to freak out. It was awesome though-- he was really nice and liked my portfolio and short animation Chameleon, which made me feel good. And I gave him one of my cards. Oh yeah.
On a separate note, here's one of the illustrations for the children's book I'm working on for the DMRF. I think it's my favorite one in the book.

Fun!
This is a character from a story I wrote in 7th grade. It was so much fun-- I filled up three whole journals with it. I didn't plan ahead, I just opened it up and let my imagination go. It was horrible, of course, because that's what happens when you go into a story without any sort of plan, but it was super fun!
I also just realized that she looks sort of like an older version of the girl in the dragon piece at the top of the page... hmmm....
DMRF Children's Book
I'm currently working on a children's book for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation. It's a really fun project for a great cause. Here are a few of the drawings I've done for that.

Syracuse Poster Project
Oh hey, look, it's my poster, blown up all huge. The poster will be displayed in the streets of downtown Syracuse along with a bunch of other work from my fellow illustration majors. Here's me looking awkward.

Fire Ferret
So... this happened tonight instead of homework...
Pabu!
(Edit: Now that he's actually been in an episode, I realize that he's a little off model. BUT SHO CUTE.)
Heh. Yeah. ANYWAY. I've started reading Game of Thrones, and in it a bunch of kids have their own wolves. And it's awesome. I drew this in like 20 minutes... I'm still getting used to drawing on the Cintiq and it was good practice.

Sherlock Holmes- Color Study and Line
Final line and color comp for my Sherlock Holmes piece. I wanted to capture the super romanticized Victorian London that we all see in our minds. This is gonna be fun!!

Makorra
Mako and Korra. Jumping on the ship.
Here's something I actually found really interesting... Below is a drawing of Katara I did in 2006, back when the original Avatar series was airing on TV. I think it's a pretty incredible example of how much I've grown as an artist over the past few years. I wonder where I'll be six years from now!

Aggie's Nine Heroes- Pencil
So I was contacted by YA author Diana Laurence about doing illustrations of the characters of her book "Aggie's Nine Heroes". You can check out her website here. The characters were super fun to draw... Now on to color!

ABC Thumbnails
Thumbnail sketches of the four finished illustrations for the ABC assignment... I'm doing scenes from four of the novels that I sketched characters for. You probably can't tell what's going on in them, but I can!! Muahahaa
And here's a quick color comp I did for the Sherlock Holmes piece. Composition still isn't great (and what's with the chairs that look like Valentine's Day heart candies?....) but this was mostly for color.

And here's a second one I tried with a slightly different composition. I thought maybe it would be good to show Holmes' really recognizable deerstalker hat and pipe in the foreground.
And here's another idea for a Sherlock Holmes piece. I think I'm gonna go with this one. Yes, I realize that there is not actually a tree under Big Ben. MEH.
S - Z
Rest of the alphabet (minus X... because I couldn't think of any X's). All drawn in my Moleskine.
Sherlock Holmes
Tess Durbyfield from Tess of the D'Urbervilles
Uriah Heep from David Copperfield
Voldemort from Harry Potter
Winston Smith from 1984
Yossarian from Catch-22
Doctor Zhivago
Oh, and here's another Korra! I drew this one months ago, but never got to scanning it until now.
